Been wanting to do this for a while on my rear lights. Had lots left so did the corners and side indicators as well but i think im gonna get some nice clear smoked DEPO lights for that.

Give me your thoughts. Sorry for crappy pics

Personally I am not too fond of the blacked out lights, but it looks very well done, nice job :thumb:

Thanks guys. The reason for the blacked out lights is i don't like the bright orange. Looking for a cleaner look. Works okay at the back but definately gonna get some clear smoked side indicators and corners because it looks more brown now than anything else.

maybe another layer on the front corners would be good cant really see in the pic but yours seem quite a bit lighter than mine...

i would not say the light output of mine are bad now... i sanded mine the 1st time because they were too dark but now i think they perfect :)

if you get some clear lens corners and wrap those it will come out way better thou :)

im still trying to find the corners i want so its only temporary on my car...

Moranor why not post some pics so we can see. Light output on my looks the same. Even thou the tint may look dark especialy inside its still doesn't affect my light output. Will try and post some pics when lights are on.

Looks good bud...

What "shade" of lamin-x did you use?

I used "Smoke" for the rears and "Tint" for the front.

Don't have enough left to apply another layer over corners cause i only bought 2 sheets because i was never planning to do more than the rear lights.

Mr_Arbee i used "smoke" as well. I did my side indicators but they are a bit tougher than the others because they are so small and curved so gonna re-do them better. Have just enough left for that. I dont know if the f/l models work the same but u just slide them forward and pull on the back. It does require some pulling to get them out but don't believe it'll break the clips.

chris did you use a hairdryer to warm up the Lamin - X it helps to make it stretch over round areas...

I did but think i warmed it up too much cause it started curling. Oops. Thats why im doing those ones again. But also learned not to try and stretch it over the edge of the light cause it also wrinkles. Ive also seen a technique on their website to tackle those areas by starting in the centre at the top and then rubbing sideways till you reach the bottom. Wait that didnt sound right. :mmm: But curious to see your lights moranor. Upload when u can.
