Hey guys-does anyone know who does this in the Randburg\Fourways area-TwT messed up my balancing and they can't fix it-thanks

Take it back to them.

If they can't fix it, maybe you've got a buckled rim or defective tyre ...

I never had an issue before they touched it-they tried to balance it again and it was better-but there is a slight vibration bet 60 an 80

Sounds strange

What car do you have? By any chance did you do your alignment too? Could be something else that is causing the problem ... Is there any vibration under heavy breaking?

Also, just out of curiosity, what tyres do you have on?

I have a 335 coupe-also did the alignment-the car is on motorplan but I have aftermarket 20's with nankang tyres-i heard that high speed balancing can sort it out as they balance the wheels on the car

well hig speed is a machine that they push against the wheel while the wheel is on the car, but its not always 100% besides the new machines are very accurate these days. as msm mentions there might be somthing else thats the real issue.
If I where you - borrow some wheels from a mate and get the dealer to look at it and have the rims balanced independent.

+1

And I remember an experience many years ago where I had a wheel high speed balanced and the guy operating the machine impatiently used the machine's drum to stop the wheel from spinning resulting in a very badly scuffed shoulder on that tyre - I was very inexperienced back then, should have insisted that they replace the tyre.

Hi Ash,
Did you by any chance fit aftermarket rims, if so then maybe you needs spiggots
I had the same problem with my 320D. Had the high speed balancing done at TWT in Fourways and there was still the slight vibration.
Long story short, fitted spiggots and the vibration was gone
Hope this helps

Where do I get spiggots from?
Hey Ash,
You are supposed to get them free with the rims you bought.
There is no standard size, at least I do not think there is.:dunno:
I just know the dealership that sold you the rims must have them
Sure this is what is causing the slight vibration

Would not drive it without spiggots! Can cause catastrofic failure due to vibration! (Wheel studs breaking, rims cracking etc) :nono:
