E90 Gearbox Sump
Hello fellow fanatics, quick question - would a 320i e90's gearbox sump work on my 330d e90's gearbox?

RE: E90 Gearbox Sump
EDIT: Sorry I read that incorrectly, I thought you asked if a 320d GEARBOX would work in a 330d.

Oh no! I can't find a sump and mine is leaking pretty badly... Tried to fix it but did not work. Was at a scrap yard but they refuse to sell the sump only - they want to sell it with the entire gearboxBlueCry

RE: E90 Gearbox Sump
From my understanding, ZF will sell you a sump only for less than R1k if I am not mistaken.

Contact ZF Services for a quote on just the sump. It forms part of the service kit when servicing the box,so I am fairly confident that you would be able to buy it seperately from them.

In that case give ZF Services a call, they very helpful, if your car has the ZF6hp autobox they should be able to sell you just the Sump as everyone suggested above as the Sump is part of the service kit which gets replaced during the gearbox service. will be way cheaper then buying a whole new gearbox just for the sump.

They have branches in JHB, Durban and Cape Town, not to sure which area you in.

RE: E90 Gearbox Sump
Hi Karlien, it is usually not the sump that is leaking but the plastic/nylon sleeve where the megatronics plug in. When ZF services the gearbox they will also replace the nylon sleeve with a new one, as well as the sump and filter. They had a special on for about R3300 a month or two ago, so go see them, they are the experts on the E90 auto gearbox. You have no option if you have a leak on the gearbox, trust me, have had the leak experience and it is only sorted by replacing the sleeve as well. ZF have service centres in Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban
