E90 320d front wheel bearing - question.
Hey folks......

Diagnosed the front left wheel bearing is kla - usual ticking noise when moving forward slowly, rattle when going over bumps, hum/grinding from that corner of the car - made worse when turning.

Busy trying to find a replacement. Issue now is there is an option of hub with ABS sensor and one without.

Which one is which for my car? dunno anymore

TIA.

Check with the dealership. I changed e46 wheel bearings and the pricing was quite good. Plus they'll check according to your VIN so you'll get the right one.

If you're changing the Hub too then it may get expensive with the stealers.

Put your VIN in there and get a Part number.

Then work from there.

Thanks for this, does help indeed.

Will need one with the ring for the ABS sensor to pick up.

Now I know at least. Thumbs

Sitrep:

Found a replacement, had it installed quickly between meetings.

Strangest thing is that the bearing coming off didnt have any play or the more common signs of issues.

Yet it was night and day difference and the rumbling under sideways load is gone, the rattles over bumps are gone, the skittish and unsettled feeling from the front of the car is also gone.

Even the mechy looked and me and asked if I was sure that the wheel bearings are the issue when he pulled the old one off.

Anyway........onwards and upwards we go.

Thanks for the assistance above.

It may be possible but you may need to try and diagnose further I am afraid.

Throwing good money at a bad diagnosis of a problem can become costly.

It could even be control arms for instance.

Are those the only symptoms you can describe?
