What tyres are you guys running?

What mileage can one expect on a set of RF tyres?

It would depend on how you drive the car. Bridgestone are good all rounders.

RE: [split] What is the best Runflat tyre to fit on F30
I had Bridgestone Potenza RFTs 245/40 18s on my TT Mk2.
They lasted 58,000km.
However:
- this is with rotation every 10,000km (same tyre size back to front)
- the remaining tread was around 2.5 mm
- the car only had 250Nm torque on the front wheels

If you have heavy torque and an M-Sport tyre set up (so cannot perform rotation), then results would vary.

10K rotation is not negotiable for me.

I am in the process of doing a deal on base spec 320d which needs new tyres, so am rather curious.

Thankfully my driving style is rather sedate!

You can only rotate on non M Sport. M sport has bigger tyres at the back

The ones I had on my car:

Part number: b36122293689 = Continental SportContact 5 SSR

They lasted 55,000km.
This is with rotation every 10,000km & wheel alignment.
Made sure the tyre pressure was correct at the end of each month.

RE: [split] What is the best Runflat tyre to fit on F30
I’ve used the 18” Pirelli PZero runflats on my E92 and they gave me good comfort and handling got about 40k km on the set. Currently on my second set of 19” Goodyear F1 Asymmetrical 2 on my F30 and can’t complain. Good comfort, good handling in wet and dry weather, I get about 35k-40k km on a set. Bit pricey but overall I personally feel it’s a good tyre.

Anytime! soft, quiet, comfortable, good grip (wet and dry).

Besides this, I would go for Michelins (Pilot Sport 4 or similar)

Bridgestones I had were hard and noisy, Good Years I had on the F30 328i wore out badly...but had good grip.

Current:
2014 320i F30 - M-Sport (Mrs)
2012 3.0d F25 - M-Sport (Family Wagon)
2005 325ci E46 - M-Sport (Mr)
2003 330ci E46 - Weekend (Mr)

Previous BMWs:
2012 328i F30 - Powerful racy motor
2012 320i E90 - Solid built, disappointing performance
2010 3.0d E70 - Versatile car, strong diesel motor
2004 320i E46 - Built like a tank, superb motor
2003 320i E46 - Money pit, lemon of note

Exactly the mileage I got on the Pirellis but on my X3.

It’s just sitting on the indicator so not entirely worn. Good tyres, no complaints.

Goodyear F1 asymmetrical 2 and Continental sport compact 5 are both great tyres.

Bridgestone Potenzas give proper mileage,my father's 328i F30 is currently on 62k km on the first set and my mother's 320d LCI on 64k km on the first set. They are a lot more noisy than the P-zeros on my car though

I just fitted a set of 19inch Michelin pilot sport 3 runflats. The grip is phenomenal compared to the old set of Bridgestones that the car came with. Paid 17.5k for 4 at TWT. 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 in the rear.

Great choice..... that's one tyre brand I wish I could afford.

I stick to conti's contact sport 5 --- if there is money, I buy Michelin's.

You cant go wrong with Michelin's. well done (though you paid quite a bit I must say)

I fitted a set of of the Michelin pilot sport 4 SUV on my wife’s GLC last week. It came with Bridgestones from the factory. Again the grip is way better, and I feel like the ride is smoother and less noisy.

You should try and save up for it, it’s definitely worth the extra money.
