RE: The dream car you should drive (e46 M3)
Nicely done and great addition back into your garage.

The 1st and only time I drove was last year, Bernaard gave me the honour of driving his M and was smitten by it since then. Totally agree that it lives up to every expectation.

Wishing you many happy miles and smiles with itBravo

The dream car you should drive (e46 M3)
Great looking car and you'd never say it has 210k km on it.

(14-09-2018 09:12 AM)Sankekur Wrote:  I still remember seeing the e46 M3's when they first came out, back then it was my dream car and I knew, in fact I vowed that I would one day have one. That day came in 2011 when I bought one, which I then sold for some or other unknown reason. Well earlier this year I managed (in a pretty roundabout fashion) to correct my past mistakes by again adding an M3 to my collection, which I won't be getting rid of any time soon. Now being on my second one I can safely say that the old adage of "Never meet your heroes/ Never drive your dream car" definitely does not apply to the e46 M3, it is the dream car that you should drive. The best word that I can use to describe the overall experience is, intoxicating.

So this latest addition is a 2003 model in titanium silver with a grey interior and with mileage sitting ever so slightly north of 210k km and it has had a load of work done to it before I took ownership of it. It has a whole load of small niggles that will to be sorted out over time as is usually the case. The biggest thing I have done so far is to redo the VANOS solenoid as it started giving issues a while back.

With that said on to some photos:

Absolute epic vehicles, I was fortunate to have owned the 2004 model but had to unfortunately sell it due to my wife developing a spinal condition, one of the most exhilarating beamers I have ever owned and to date have had 15

Beautiful specimen and pics!
We would not expect anything less from you, I'm sure you are going to drive it just that way M GmbH intended it to be!

Rasp City! Inlove

p.s I Think its time to line the three up and snap them all together...

Thank you, means a lot coming from you.

I definitely have plan to line up the bunch of e46's for a photoshoot.

Enjoy!Bravo

The mileage is probably one of the reasons I was able to afford it Icon9

Yup the front bumper is one of the things that need to be sorted out, thankfully the photos can at least hide how bad the paint on it is.

(14-09-2018 09:58 AM)kilotango Wrote:  i actually wanted one of these really badly. around 2010 a friend had one for sale. it was the SMG version and he had put coilovers etc on it. it looked sweet so i took it for a drive a few times. the power was bloody serious, it felt awesome on the road, but that tinny engine sound just didnt agree with me.

two years later i found a 330ci, and bought it immediately. sure, its not as hardcore as the M3, but it is alot more chilled/refined for daily use imo. the 330ci costed ALOT less too. dream cars are relative to owners personalities Bluebiggrin

sadly i saw that same M3 end of last January at a garage. the owner traded it in for second hand X3. i went and checked it out, the motor was apparently KO'd and the SMG pump was gone too. they didnt have much info on the engine problem, but they did say the engine wouldn't turn over even by hand.

Awesome story man, personally I am not a big fan of the 330Ci, but that is a good thing, so we are not all looking for the same thing and it also keeps things interesting. This said the 330Ci is still an awesome car and a head turner of note.

Well spotted.

It is Kitty Hawk Aerodrome

I know some people love the rasp, others despise it, personally I am somewhere in the middle, but is definitely one of the most distinctive features of the car.

Truth, although a it is a bit of a personal opinion, but overall the shape of the e46 has aged really well.
Maybe just one ever so slight modification Fencelook
