Was I Flim-Flammed by BMW?

Surely, it the car has more than 75 000km on, it should get more checks, and not less? #fail

Hi Luke, Dale here from SMG.

I truly am sorry for this bad experience. I believe my DP has made contact with you to arrange something which we will follow up on.

Please if you have any problems just pop me an inbox.

I know the vehicle was sold as a used vehicle through the dealers 2nd Tier division and not an approved vehicle.

But if you have any problems, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Dale

OP, just make sure you get the right size rim. Does your car have staggered rims or they all the same size. Narrow and wides, which rim is the one in question, front or rear?

Hi Dale, thanks for the reply.

Yes I was in contact, and they are trying to source me another rim for delivery, and are in touch with my local dealership to make a plan. I'm currently awaiting further contact.

@Lizzard:
It's the front rim, rim type 403M. That's the info I've given them. I will check the other tyres today for exact specs

Well done on the dealership admitting their mistake and making things right with you. the generic excuse is a different situation though...

before a rim is ordered, if you don't have a jack or cant do this yourself, go to a local tyre shop and have all 4 rims removed and each one inspected. you can also check the offset correctly as well.

Yeah, like kish said, be sure to remove and inspect all the rims before the new one is ordered. Just now a back wheel is on the front or vice versa and you end up ordering the wrong one.

Yeah im going to try go in tomorrow.
I did a little check myself now, and it's quite strange. The rim feels different to me, and from the front is definitely different, no chamfered holes, slightly different texture, the badges, etc. But from what little photos I could take and feeling with my fingers.. it seems like the numbers on the back match the original? Which actually worries me more, because then of it is actually refurbished and not a replica... They refurbished the hell out of it. What damage could have been done that I wasn't told about? Nothing on the service logs mentions anything regarding this, and no comments on the vehicle.
Either way it's not satisfactory that this has happened, and a replacement is warrented.

Luke, you need not worry. That is 100% a rep wheel. Have the suspension checked out too where that wheel comes off as chances are the wheel was replaced due to pothole damage or some sort.

Just to close off this thread guys, a big thank you to SMG South Coast for understanding the situation. Realizing they let something slip through the cracks accidentally and dealing with the problem in a well-mannered and respectable fashion. They are sending me a replacement rim, because refurbed or replica, it's not to spec.
There was no hassle or messy emails back and forth, etc. Well done SMG.

We should all take this as a lesson to check every nook and cranny before purchasing a pre-owned vehicle to avoid situations like this Ty
