Llew's F90 M5

OK Last pics of this mod for this thread: I might post up work in progress/step pics as a standalone:

There has been a noticeable improvement in the handling, specifically roll when taking corners at the speeds the F90 seems to excel at LOL (and post alignment the responsiveness of the steering wheel has changed, though this might be either placebo effect OR the impact of the rest of the elements coming together).

No noticeable loss in comfort even on our 'under construction' roads. This is a base height for me and I will decide on whether to lower further in future - this is the beauty of a kit like this one.

Overall I am very happy that I gave BMW Midrand the chance to do this. I know there had been issues before with other members but (like JSN and my Schnitzer setup on the old M5), once something like this has gone wrong, sometimes the lessons learned benefit other customers down the line. I feel like this was the case here since every bolt was checked/changed and accounted for, the old parts were all accounted for and packed away neatly, they went out of the way to make sure I was happy on height and checked/double checked the measurements etc.

Michael the tech who did the fitment was absolutely fantastic to deal with. Ditto Justine the service advisor who called me several times from next to the car and gave very detailed feedback to me.

A bit of a detail and coating. I am going to have the bumper (and probably bonnet) PPFed soon

Iron decontaminated
Corrected swirls and holograms with Rupes compounds and machine (I didn't go too crazy on the correction - I've covered why in prior posts). That being said the pics are grainier than in person LOL
Coated most of the car with Gyeon Mohs and Q2M booster

I will take pics when the sun decides to show itself again. You might have spotted a few on instagram if you're following.

Sneak preview:

I got a call from @deago.parts@abmbmw that legend earlier today: My rims had arrived:

My son is in love with them and can't wait to fit them (same with me TBH on both counts LOL).

These are forged, ultra lightweight rims, made in Britain by Rimstock (Team Dynamics). Sizes and offsets are identical to stock, except of course they weigh a whopping 3.4KG per front and 3.25kg per rear lighter. Shedding 13.3kg of unsprung mass is impressive. They are even lighter than the M5 CS wheel by a few grams (500g across the set).

Yup they are Style 863M and are M Performance options for the F90 (and all M8s). Strangely enough mine came labelled as F90 but specs are identical across them all. Thanks!

I am going to play devil's advocate and say I like the OEM wheel better... But then again I would need to see it in person.... Think I need to make a pass there by you. Hehehe

You are welcome to lol. It’s really no contest when you see it in person.
