Rim upgrade for F32 - nemo_jhb - 24-06-2016 11:49 PM
Hi guys, just got my new ride & I'm considering changing the rim. Anyone know who would be willing to trade my BMW M Sport light alloy, double spoke style 442M, 8 J x 19, 225/40 R 19 & 8.5 J x 19 Front, 225/35 R 19 Rear, 5/120 PCD? Original BMW Rim. Will fit 3 series / 4 series. Excellent condition.
Any suggestions on what would look good? Looking for 19"s.
Kinda leaning towards the m-performance 405M's or 624M's.

my suggestion would be to change the wheels, keep your tyres. You can go more aggressive with the wheel choice and possibly go lower. Dont swop your OEM wheels,
Fuzz did this with his F30 and the results speak for themselves.

Check with Shaheen at The Wheel Shop
He has lots of options for 3 series and 4 series AND he accepts trade ins!
Hes a forum advertiser but i'd suggest calling and going there.
BTW, the car is lovely!!!

I agree with this. Unless you'll planning to fork out 40k+ for proper wheels, you'll trade this great looking, properly made set for a set of heavier copies with questionable quality.

Agree with above I kept my original rims and when it comes time to selling the car you have enjoyed the rim you actually wanted on the car and the buyer gets a brand new set of wheels hopefully still scratch free.
Flip with my one GTI I sold it 2.5 years later and the original 18" rims and Tyres had 150km on them

Agreed as well. Keep the Tyres and just get a wider set of rims and if u want a different offset to make the back wheel full the arches a bit more. I just did this as well with my F30 and just changed the 19 oem to the m6 gran coupe but also kept the oem 19.

Rear offset on these cars is madness... However, find a set that suit your taste and fit accordingly... I've opted to keep my OE tyres on aftermarket wheels, as it's a lot cheaper than wasting good tyres. Also consider if you're going to lower your car and the effect it has on your planned wheel upgrade. Once you have that out the way, you'll be fine.
BTW congrats on the car, looks gorgeous

Haven't found a rim as yet, but still on the look out...
In the mean time,
I managed to swop out the grill & added carbon mirror caps.
Was considering the "murdered out" look, but still a sucker for the Carbon bits.
Awaiting delivery on my carbon boot spoiler

Theres this place in wynberg (Sandton) called Bavarian Breakers. Not too far from renew-it. I was there earlier. They've got some good oem wheels. Worth checking out. Even saw oem M4 wheels.
